Welcome to the 1st Annual ASCE Idaho Civil Engineering Conference! This two day conference is the largest event held by the Southern Idaho Section (SIS) of ASCE. Civil Engineers from all disciplines, public and private sector, and students and faculty from Idaho and the surrounding states are welcome to attend. The conference will feature technical sessions and presentations for every discipline of Civil Engineering as well as the Annual Outstanding Civil Engineering Awards Banquet. This conference is an excellent opportunity to discover new technical knowledge, hear about interesting case studies on projects where you live and work, network with other Civil Engineers, and visit with vendors and learn about their cutting edge products and services. This is the premier Idaho Civil Engineering event of the year and you don't want to miss it!

The conference will take place March 19th - 20th, 2019 at the Boise State University Student Union Building. The conference will be all day on Tuesday and half of the day on Wednesday. The annual SIS Outstanding Civil Engineering Awards Banquet will take place on Tuesday night. The theme for this year's banquet is Casino Night. Happy hour will take place before the banquet and consist of beverages (cash bar) and fun casino games including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, and more!

REGISTRATION:

Unlike other conferences that charge you an arm and a leg, we put attendee value at center stage. ASCE members only pay $100 to attend. That's crazy! Public sector Civil Engineers pay even less and Civil Engineering students can attend for free. Conference organizers have spent a lot of time and effort booking top Civil Engineering professionals in Idaho to present at the conference. There will be several concurrent technical session tracks that cover topics from every discipline of Civil Engineering so there's something for everyone. The conference is designed to maximize the amount of professional development you receive but doesn't skip out on what makes a conference fun to attend. Registration includes:

  • Free shuttle service to/from the conference hotel for out of town attendees
  • Free parking in the Lincoln Garage for local attendees
  • Bountiful meals provided on both days
  • Morning and afternoon snacks and refreshments to keep you going
  • Vendor sponsored raffles for huge prizes during every break
  • Casino Night happy hour event featuring fun casino games and beverages
  • Annual Outstanding Civil Engineering Awards Banquet

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Be sure to take advantage of sponsorship opportunities when you register. Companies can increase their exposure  at the conference by sponsoring several events, including breakfast each morning, lunch, morning and afternoon snacks and refreshments, the Casino Night happy hour event, and the Outstanding Civil Engineering Awards Banquet. Sponsorship will include your company logo prominently displayed at the event in a location that everyone will see such as at the entrance to the event and at key locations throughout, an announcement during the sponsored event, and your company logo printed in the conference program adjacent to the sponsored event.

CALL FOR PRESENTERS

Interested in presenting at the conference? Do you have a colleague that recently completed an interesting civil engineering project? Is there a younger engineer in your office that could benefit from developing public speaking skills? It's not too late to get on the schedule. Submit a 1-2 paragraph abstract of your presentation along with a 1 paragraph speaker bio to Lauren Nuxoll at lnuxoll@kittelson.com after you register for the conference. Your submission will be reviewed by the SIS board and if accepted, you will earn your spot in the conference program. Registration for the conference is not required for consideration as a presenter at the conference.
